The Roundlings Present: MISSION IMPROV-IBLE
NEW DATE: April 19, 2026 at 7:30 pm
The Roundlings are Round House Theatre’s teen comedy ensemble. These whimsical wits write and develop their own original comedy sketches, song parodies, and stand-up comedy. They also thrive while performing short-form improvisation games and long-form improvised scenes. Their new show features audience interactivity, spontaneous silliness, and hopefully…a lot of laughs.
ABOUT THE ROUNDLINGS
The Roundlings began in the fall of 2019, bringing together students from Round House Theatre improvisation classes and camps . The ensemble met weekly to work on stand-up and sketch comedy, while also sharpening their improvisation skills. Their first performance was at the Round House Education Center in January 2020. Their debut sketch “Your dog is dead, Charlie Brown” (featuring the Peanuts gang returning home for Snoopy’s funeral) was the delightfully dark high point of the show. As they started developing material for a performance on the Round House Theatre main stage in the spring…the coronavirus pandemic began. The Roundlings quickly adapted to creating comedy in a virtual format, producing two more shows that were shared through Zoom. Along the way they have expanded their comedic repertoire to include writing song parodies, performing musical improv, and creating long-form improvised plays.
In fall of 2021, the group started working together in person again. After another sharing at the Round House Education Center, The Roundlings THE ROUNDLINGS made their self-titled debut on the Round House Theatre stage in May 2022. Their 2023 show, No Character Limit, presented a song parody of “Uptown Funk” (that focused on attorneys facing off in the courtroom), and a cooking show hosted by a clown. 2024’s production, War for the Rise of the Dawn of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Roundlings featured the debut of a brand-new improv game created by a Roundling, and an epic Rick Roll. And 2025’s Our Parents Paid for This showcased a sketch about the slang terms used by Gen Alpha, a morbid musical number, and an improvised version of Snow White. Every Roundlings show has an abundance of stand-up comedy, improvisation games, and audience participation.
