All classes are held at the Round House Theatre Education Center in downtown Silver Spring.

Dramatots: Amazing Animal Adventures

This terrific class is an introduction to the magic of theatre for our youngest students. We will venture through the animal world from becoming the smallest mouse to the most magnificent dragon through acting, movement, and design. Semester concludes with an open session for families.

Movement meets imagination! Students will dance, wiggle, skip and jump their way into theatrical storytelling. Each week, a prompt—a curious object, an image, a line of dialogue—ignites a theatrical adventure. Young artists will analyze cues, deduce meaning, and craft original stories. This class fosters imaginative thinking, deductive reasoning, self-confidence, and collaborative storytelling. Semseter ends with a sharing of our favorite stories for families.

Improv!

Grades 6-9

Act Fast! Improvisation teaches collaborative problem-solving, encourages spontaneity, and builds self-confidence. Through games, interactive play, and long-form exploration, this class encourages creativity and teamwork. The emphasis will be on creating a safe environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, and learn through doing. This class can be repeated multiple times and concludes with a sharing for families.
