Quality and success are a tradition at Round House Theatre. We have been creating compelling theatre experiences for our neighbors in Montgomery County and the greater Washington metropolitan area for 28 seasons. Since his arrival in June 2005, Producing Artistic Director, Blake Robison has reinforced Round House Theatre's commitment to creating stellar productions and education programs for our community. We need your help to sustain this quality programming. Ticket sales and other earned income cannot completely cover the costs of underwriting our numerous programs, so we rely on the support of our community. We can't do it without you!
What your gift makes possible…
- The Literary Works Project brings classic and contemporary literature to life on our stages in Bethesda and Silver Spring. It also provides a forum for community activity, including symposia, community outreach, and regional partnerships to expand the impact of each production and engage our community in the arts.
- The Kitchen, our theatre laboratory, provides time, space, and resources free-of-charge to actors, directors, designers, and playwrights in Montgomery County and the Washington DC metropolitan area. The Kitchen broadens the scope of our commitment to individual artists by establishing our space as an incubator for new work.
- The Sarah Metzger Memorial Play offers high school students from throughout the area an opportunity to mount a full production at Round House Theatre. Under the guidance of education and production staff, students learn all aspects of producing a show at a professional level.
- Reduced-price tickets for our School Matinee Program. Local school groups attend Round House productions and participate in two interactive in-classroom workshops to further examine the art of bringing literature to life onstage. This is an incredible opportunity to engage, educate, and entertain youth through the power of live theatre.
- Year-Round Education Classes offer a variety of performance and process-based classes for students of all ages. We offer an average of 20 different classes each fall, winter and spring. Our summer programs include intensive full-day classes for youth in junior and senior high school, as well as two elementary school offerings.
