Spend a year training at one of the nation’s top regional theatres!
Round House Theatre offers a variety of exciting apprenticeships to provide hands-on instruction and professional experience for the next generation of theatre artists and administrators. Under the direction of the Education & Outreach Department, all apprentices are supervised by highly-qualified personnel, given substantive work assignments, and are regularly evaluated to ensure that the program is meeting their needs. Apprentices work approximately 40 hours/week, are paid an hourly stipend, and receive all non-exempt employee benefits, including health insurance.
In past years, graduates of the apprenticeship program have joined Round House full-time staff and found work at such local organizations as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Washington National Opera, The Studio Theatre, and Theatre J, as well as across the country at Alliance Theatre (Atlanta, GA) CENTERSTAGE (Baltimore, MD), South Coast Repertory (Costa Mesa, CA), and Signature Theatre Company (NYC) among many others.

Applications for 08/09 Apprenticeships are due April 11, 2008. Applicants of high interest should submit their application as soon as possible. Initial interviews begin March 14, 2008.
To apply for an apprenticeship with Round House Theatre, please complete the application form and submit along with:
- one-page letter stating your interest and qualifications,
- a current resumé
- two letters of recommendation
