Explore the World of Theater!

Round House Summer Programs inspire creativity, exercise imaginations, promote artistic risk-taking, and explore unique ways to tell stories through theatre. Our teaching artists nurture students’ individual talents in an environment of collaboration and ensemble building.  From kindergarten to high school, all our students experience the joy of creating and sharing theatre.

From our participants & parents:

IMG_3062“This year was really fantastic. Our family really likes the format and my daughter always says this is the best camp of the summer. The creativity of the students from costume design to story creation always strikes me as really wonderful.”

“I saw an amazing boost in confidence in both of my children.”

“I love how the programs tie art, storytelling and culture together.”

“This program was a great opportunity to learn about theater and to provide an activity that would help give my child more confidence in speaking and being herself around others.”

“I was inspired by the creativity.”

“I appreciate the fact that a child is encouraged to use imagination and creativity while having fun. This fills them up with positive energy.”

“I really like the EZ Care policies, the flexibility to make that decision day by day as my work schedule changes.”

“…taught by amazing artists.”

“My daughter loved everything about this program. It’s a gem.”

“It is rare to find acting teachers who are so patient and encouraging of the individual student performer. Most care more about making their show look good (even though we are students and are here to learn, not make a perfect show!).”

“We loved the incorporation of design – my students cannot get that experience anywhere else.”

“Being in a nearby real theater space, the ability to learn and have fun, and the quality of the teaching staff will keep us coming back”

“The teaching artists are terrific at engaging each individual student.”

Explore faraway lands and embark on fantastic adventures! In Summer Destinations, young artists use their imagination as their guide to a new destination every day. Students participate in daily drama, design, music, and dance/movement classes. In the afternoon, they create projects that celebrate the connections between the elements of the performing arts. Each week features a different theme and every day a new location to explore – from Outer Space to Ancient Greece. Students can join us for multiple sessions and will never visit the same place twice!

Students work in age-appropriate groups as well as collaborating together throughout the week on performance projects. We welcome family and friends at the end of each week to a sharing of highlights from our travels – favorite songs, dances, stories, art, and experiences.
