Summer Theater Camps for Grades K-5

Round House Theatre offers engaging programs for students of all ages. We inspire creativity, exercise imaginations, and promote artistic risk-taking, while developing critical thinking, cooperation, and confidence. We believe each child is an artist, and encourage them to explore every aspect of theater – acting, movement, design, and play creation – and the unique ways of telling stories through drama.
Check here in January for information on our Summer Camps 2018!

Young Artists Performance Companies for Grades 4-5 and 6-8

A UNIQUE CLASS FOR EXPERIENCED STUDENTS. Under the direction of two RHT teaching artists, students bring an established text to life.

This class culminates in a final performance following the last class at 3:30 in our rehearsal room. Limited enrollment.

The Fall Young Artist Performance Company production will be Just So…And Other Stories Tales From Around the World and in the Tradition of Rudyard Kipling. Infamous and famous folk tales come to life as characters act out their stories of creation. This script allows for great ensemble acting based in familiar stories, and is an excellent source of design inspiration as well!

Days Off! Play In a Day

For students in grades K-5

Our Days Off! Play in a Day program allows your students to have theatrical fun at the Round House Theatre Education Center when MCPS takes a day off but YOU have to go in to the office.

Designed with both parents and students in mind, the program day runs from 9am-5:30pm, with a sharing each day at 5pm for family and friends.

Students work on skills in the morning and then collaborate in the afternoon to create their own unique theatrical performance, with plenty of time for breaks and relaxation built into their schedule.

Our theme this year is all about bringing stories to life! Your students will create their own spin on established stories shared with each other using drama, dance, music, and design. Each Play in a Day is as unique as the group of kids it was designed for, so take one or take them all – the story and characters are always new!
