It’s a Jungle Out There!
Grade Level: K – 1st Grade
Explore the wild side of the animal kingdom from the safety and warmth of a classroom. Each week, students will discover new creatures—from the smallest mouse to the most magnificent dragon—through creative play, song, movement, and visual arts. It’s a Jungle Out There! concludes with an open class showing for family members.
Imagination Destination!
Grade Level: K – 1st Grade
Using their imaginations as their guide, students will explore a new and exciting destination each class! Students will swing from vines in the jungle, blast off for outer space, and ride horses through the Wild West. The residency introduces students to a variety of cultures and experiences while teaching fundamentals of theatre through song, dance, music, visual art, and drama. Imagination Destination! culminates in an informal sharing for family and friends.
Stories Onstage!
Grade Level: K – 2nd
Students explore elements of theatre through storytelling. Each class students will dive into unique and exciting tales, create characters, and bring the world of the story to life by using their actors’ tools! Stories Onstage! Culminates in an informal sharing for family and friends.
Fractured Fairy Tales
Grade Level: K – 2nd Grade
Shake up your favorite stories! Students will have the chance to reinvent their favorite fairy tales and learn how to tell them in a whole new way. The possibilities are endless! Fractured Fairy Tales culminates in an informal sharing for family members during the last class.
Theater Sampler: A Taste of the Theater!
Grade Level: 2nd – 4th grade
Come along on a theatrical adventure with Round House Theatre each week! Each class will feature a different theatrical style to explore from improvisation, scene study, creative writing. Theater Sampler culminates with a demonstration of skills learned for family members.
Create Your Own Adventure
Grade Level: 2nd – 4th Grade
Add a twist or turn to a classic tale! Rewrite history! In this residency, students create their own adventures by re-working stories as an ensemble to create a new and improved version in play-form. This residency will culminate in a sharing for family members.
The Art of Character Creation
Grade Level: 3rd – 5th Grade
Students learn how to make big artistic choices and create characters using their bodies and voices. By tackling both classic and original stories- our favorite characters are brought to life onstage! This residency will culminate in an open session and sharing of student work.
The Art of Playmaking
Grade Level: 3rd – 5th grade
This class allows students to learn about theatre by making it! Each week participants will be presented with a piece of artwork, song lyrics, story, or exercise from which they can create original short plays. The Art of Playmaking! will culminate in a sharing of work for family members.
The Art of Improvisation
Grade Level: 3rd – 5th grade
Tickle your funny bone! In this class, students will explore the humor of everyday life and turn it into theatrical performance. Through improvisation students will learn different approaches to comedy. Make Me Laugh culminates in an informal showing for family members.
