The Kitchen, Round House Theatre's theatre lab, supports local artists by making our Silver Spring theatre and education center available to them at no charge for script development, play readings, rehearsals, classes, and other arts-related projects.
The Kitchen broadens the scope of our commitment to individual artists by establishing our space as an incubator for Maryland and DC area artists. The initial participants to whom The Kitchen privileges have been extended (i.e. The Cooks) are actors, directors, designers, and playwrights of varied backgrounds.
Some Kitchen projects result in free public readings and presentations of workshop material. In addition to individual projects developed by the Cooks, The Kitchen plays host to several ongoing Round House Theatre projects on a monthly basis.
