Seasonal Carpenter

Round House Theatre, a LORT D regional theatre with a $5M budget, is seeking a Carpenter for our 2017-2018 Season, who will serve as a member of the Production team for all performance programming, assisting with the build, install, and strike process in order to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of scenic production elements. This position assists with ensuring that all elements of the production sets are kept in the original working order from Press Opening through the end of the run, as well as the general maintenance of production-related facilities and equipment. This position will be mainly based out of our Scene Shop in Rockville, but some hours at our theatre in Bethesda are required. Position will include weekend and evening hours for meetings, opening nights, and theatre related events. Salary of $600/week with the possibility of overtime, August of 2017 – early June of 2018. Box Office Associate

Round House Theatre seeks part-time box office associates to work a mix of nighttime and weekend hours. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing single ticket and subscription sales, cash management, concessions sales, and general administrative tasks. Candidates must have good computer and phone skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Teaching Artists

Round House Theatre seeks skilled teaching artists for their Education & Outreach Programming. Applicants may designate program(s) they are interested in; descriptions available here. Ideal candidates value creativity, collaboration, diversity, reflection, and excellence, and possess the following: significant prior experience teaching in arts-learning and/or arts-integration programs; strong understanding of and ability to plan lessons; ability to teach independently and with a team; a passion for the arts and education. Supervisory experience or full-time classroom teaching experience is a plus. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Apprenticeships for Recent College Graduates

Round House offers apprenticeships designed to offer more extensive training for recent college graduates. Apprentices receive a travel stipend and are expected to work 25 to 40 hours a week for a full season. Apprenticeships are available in Development, Arts Administration, Artistic, Education, Production/Technical, Stage Management, and Marketing at Round House.  Applicants are evaluated on a rolling basis beginning in April and applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. We are no longer accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Season.

Summer Education Internships for College Students and Recent Graduates

Summer Education Internships are designed to provide on-the-job training for early career educators and arts administrators already pursuing a path in theatre or education.  Interns gain first-hand experience in Round House Theatre’s extensive summer camp program, both in the classroom and in administration.

Internships for College Students & Recent Graduates

Round House Theatre’s Internship Program is designed to provide on-the-job training for early career artists and administrators already pursuing a path in theatre, education, marketing, or general management. Interns gain first-hand experience in the rigors and rewards of the activities of one of the DC area’s most respected theatres. Round House offers a variety of internships throughout the year to explore theatre administration and programming, under the direction of the Education & Outreach Department.

Internships are offered as nine-month season internships, one semester internships, or summer internships. Undergraduate and Graduate Students as well as recent graduates are welcome to apply. All internships are unpaid.

Teen Educator Program: Summer Internships For High School Students

High School Interns may work in our innovative Teen Educator Program. The Teen Educator Program is a volunteer program that allows students in Grade 9-12 to join the Round House Theatre Teaching Artists as classroom assistants. Teens build classroom management skills and learn to facilitate a theatre arts experience for students in dance, design, playwriting, music, and drama.  Round House can provide documentation of hours worked so students can meet Student Service Learning requirements or internship hours.
